Product Description
For Simatic S5 system applications, Siemens 6ES5714-2AS01 provides the function of a Y-Adaptor Cable.
For replacement planning, its purpose is to adapt or repeat signals between compatible parts of the control architecture while preserving the connection method expected by the installed equipment. Selection should account for the intended surrounding hardware configuration.
In a SIMATIC S5 system, module selection is governed by the controller family, rack arrangement, electrical interface, and configured program. The exact article number should be matched before installation. Connection and configuration should follow the requirements of the platform.
When this product is used for lifecycle support, technicians should confirm the installed revision, connection arrangement, and system assignment rather than assuming interchangeability with a similarly named module. This is relevant where the installation calls for this specific component class.
