Product Description
6ES5731-6AG00 is identified by Siemens as a Adapter Cable within the Simatic S5 family.
Converter and adapter hardware bridges differing electrical, physical, or communication interfaces so compatible system components can exchange signals through the required connection method. The assigned system function should be preserved through installation and service.
In a SIMATIC S5 system, module selection is governed by the controller family, rack arrangement, electrical interface, and configured program. The exact article number should be matched before installation. Application details remain governed by the exact product revision.
When this product is used for lifecycle support, technicians should confirm the installed revision, connection arrangement, and system assignment rather than assuming interchangeability with a similarly named module. Configuration records should be reconciled with the exact installed assembly.
