Product Description

Designed for the Simatic S5 platform, Siemens 6ES5318-8MA12 is an Interface Module.

Within the process-control arrangement, communication modules move control and status information between system elements, helping controllers, networks, operator resources, or external computers exchange data through the architecture named in the product description. This helps preserve the function assigned to the installed control node.

SIMATIC S5 is a modular PLC platform used in established machine and process-control installations. This product supports the PLC modules function assigned within the compatible S5 hardware configuration. Existing connection and module records should guide replacement work.

Country of origin is listed as Germany.

For maintenance or replacement work, the exact module designation should be checked against the installed hardware, wiring records, and control-system documentation before the component is placed into service. The plant's maintenance records should support final product selection.
