Product Description

The Siemens 6ES5421-8MA12 is a Digital Input Module used with the Simatic S5 automation platform.

In day-to-day system operation, a digital input module receives discrete on/off states from field contacts and devices, then makes those states available to the controller for monitoring, sequencing, alarms, and interlocks. Application should remain aligned with the documented system design.

SIMATIC S5 is a modular PLC platform used in established machine and process-control installations. This product supports the PLC modules function assigned within the compatible S5 hardware configuration. Application should remain aligned with the documented system design.

Country of origin is listed as Germany.

For ongoing lifecycle support, proper application depends on matching the product to the original control-system design, including its physical position, electrical connections, and configured relationship with surrounding hardware. Its role should remain distinct from that of similarly named assemblies.
